Posted a number of Slayers fics this weekend, including the Star Wars trilogy that got me started in fanfiction in the first place. I also posted the Ah! My Goddess!/Slayers crossover "Ah! My Zelgadis!", Dan Snyder's fic "Mulina" (a very funny "Mulan" spoof), as well as other one-offs I and others did ages ago.

SLAYERS FICS MENU

Gourrigan's Island is back online! Speaking of which, I Googled Gourrigan's Island on a lark and was really touched by the things people were saying about it...and by the sites that still hosted GI guest fics! Like, on one site it was called the grandaddy of all crossover fics. I think another said something about it being chock full of self-insertions. Well, duh. What's the fun of a free-for-all crossover if you can't add yourself into the soup? Not bad for a fic that I haven't touched since 1999. Heavens to Betsy! I had no idea my little monster would grow so big and strong! Mommy's so proud!

I also installed links on that title image up top, there (dummy me forgot the hotspots, D'OH!) And there's now a feedback form, so I can be emailed without fear of the new email address for this site becoming a [explative deleted] spammer's darling, as the old address did (that email address no longer exists, which I guess you kind of noticed a long time ago, you clever monkeys.)

Next week, I work on getting my three Slayers/Star Wars crossover fics back online. These were based on the original three Star Wars movies (IV, V, & VI, as George Lucas designated them upon their release, to the confusion of us all at the time. Then he came out with three more 25+ years later, and we were all, like, "Oh, ok.") These are the fics that got me ficking (or, began the hobby that used to eat my life.)

The Inufics (Inuyasha fanfiction) section is back online.

April 15, 2007

I'm still reworking the site. I'd hoped to do a redesign but have decided that can wait. So I'm just focusing on getting it reorganized, cleaned up and back online. I've almost finished the Inuyasha section and will work on ZOTC and ZOTR next. Alas, some old content might go by the wayside. Or maybe I'll just shove it all into a section called "Archive", or "Graveyard". Ooh, spooky! I could do a creepy theme! Especially since some of the people who wrote the guest fics, or did the guest 'toons that might end up there will send me poison emails! Hey, it's my site, I can do what I want with it! (Now what did I do with that grimoir with all the antitode recipes in it?)

I'm also planning to zip up my most popular fanfics (Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Zelgadis On The Road, and Zelgadis On The Couch...and maybe the Gourrigan's Island stories written by me) and offer them for download. So you'd get the entire story all at once in PDF format, in a zip file. Not sure when that will be done, though.

In going through my old files, I've been getting all nostalgic. This site started on Geocities. As I recall, I left because when they were purchased by Yahoo! they started this "All your content belongs to us" junk, which I was just not digging. So, like many other Geocity-ites, I jumped ship. This was back in 1998, if memory serves. I bring this up to point out how lazy I've been about keeping my files cleaned up on the server. Lazy and disorganized. I found some pages on the server that referenced my old Geocities address. Yikes! I've since learned better but am still lazy. In 10 years, this is the first real clean-up and reorg I've done.

*sigh* If I was any good at this web design stuff, and if I were an artist of any ilk, my site would look like this one: http://www.csszengarden.com/. I have so much to learn.

Anyway, I hope to have the site back up, at least in part, by the end of April. Meanwhile, you can play with my blog: http://rathersillyblog.blogspot.com/. It's not as fun and photo-filled as my friend Helephant's blog (she even has a tech blog! Oooh!) but it's a little slice of my silly brain. Enjoy.
